Reading the Quran

Reading the Quran in Arabic a Juz a day is recommended. Reading the Quran in your first language so that you clearly understand the meaning is wonderful. My favorite Quran with English translation is The Gracious Quran by Ahmed Zaki Hammad.

Is it just me or does Ramadan make everything slow down and things just become more peaceful and quiet. Well it's good to utilize those peaceful, quiet times to meditate or reflect on the Quran, no matter what language you read the Quran in. What I have discovered is the language of our heart transcends the languages of this world. We can clearly understand the inspiration of Allah in our own language. And if our hearts are open we find ways to communicate with others who do not speak our language. The language of our heart is the language of love, the love Allah has for us and the love we have for each other. Take this Ramadan to fall in love with Allah and His Book all over again and may Allah bless you with openings like you could never have imagined.
